Project Objectives
· To advance the UN Millenium Development Goals of eradicating malaria across the globe by 2015;
· To use the material developed during my Malaria Griot fellowship with ONE/Malaria No More to support curriculum in English/Science/Social Sciences;
· To create a MDG seminar to effect discussion and interest in subject matter;
· To create a package of material that can be used to teach the following:
o Impact of poverty on disease
o Impact of malaria on the world financially, socially and politically
o Impact of debt on countries
o Impact of literature including blogs, newspapers (online and offline), books and historical journals on the malaria story
o Impact of citizen journalist on the ever-changing literature of the invisible voice of those in third world countries
o Impact of social action on the present and future of malaria prevention (Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, ONE, Malaria No More, UN Nothing But the Nets)
